There was a competition “Abay readings” at the General Prosecutor’s Office to promote the works of Abay Kunanbayuly in anticipation of the celebration of the 175th anniversary of the great poet.
In the light of the modernization of public consciousness, the personality and works of Abay is thereby the “cultural code” of the Kazakh people, noted in the program article of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev “Rukhani zhangyru”.
Recently, by the Decree of the President of the country K.K. Tokaev, there was established the State Commission to prepare and conduct the 175th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayuly. The Head of State emphasized the need to ensure the celebration of the poet’s anniversary throughout the country at a high organizational and substantive level.
In this regard, on the eve of the anniversary year, the General Prosecutor initiated the “Abay readings” contest among employees of the prosecution authorities of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the competition is to study, comprehend and popularize the heritage of the Great Thinker and Writer for spiritual education and enhance the linguistic culture of young cadres.
Throughout the republic, more than three hundred prosecutors took part in Abay Readings campaign. During the month, there were events in the regional and equivalent prosecutor's offices dedicated to the creative heritage of Abay.
The competition held at the General Prosecutor’s Office was the logical conclusion of a series of events this year aimed at popularizing the Great Poet’s work in the prosecution authorities. Teams from among the employees of structural units of the Central Office proved to be in reading poetry and edification words of Abay, as well as in performing songs that people loved.
The jury evaluated the participants’ skill, which included a well-known abaylogist, philologist Omar Jalel, First Deputy General Prosecutor Berik Asylov, chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan Aset Adilkhan and other employees of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the results of the competition, the jury awarded the first place to the team of the Personnel Development Department (Darkhan Aitmaganbetov, Rustem Imangaliyev), the second place to the Special Prosecutors Service (Daniyar Sagyndykov, Akmaral Murtazina), and the third to the team of the Criminal Prosecution Service of the General Prosecutor's Office (Ilyas Eskaliev, Yerzhan Zhandand).
Winners and prize-winners were awarded diplomas and souvenirs on behalf of the General Prosecutor. All participants in the competition were marked by letters of appreciation the efforts and creative activity.
